Kingly News

Though it will bore most of the world, here's a means of keeping track of what's happening with the King household.

Can't believe everything that has happened in the last two weeks--and no time to catch it all up. Just some brief notes:

Mom moved back to Trenton, stayed less than a week, and then moved again back to Jackson Meadows. We still haven't heard from her by telephone--I got the news via a letter from her, and then a phone call from my cousin. I suppose she will get a telephone in sometime soon. We hope she finds some place she can feel settled that she can afford.

We're making arrangements to help Janet's mom with her move from Massachusetts to Florida.

The cable has been up and down (mostly down, as far as the modem was concerned), but they finally got it buried on Friday, and now it's working great. Also got the networking challenges solved.

I'm writing this during a work break on Sunday morning. I skipped choir practice and church (and I rarely miss church) to catch up on some deadlines. Have to get a textbook review to the publisher by tomorrow (a deadline that has already been moved once), have to sort videotapes for the Web class by tomorrow to verify with students what I've received, have to view the tapes by Friday. Was supposed to also finish packing up the last of the stuff at the old house so that I can use a borrowed truck tomorrow and Tuesday, but I'm now going to call the folks who are getting the old house to ask if I can please have a few more days (and explain why). Ironically, it could wind up costing us exactly what the textbook review will bring in.

Janet and I went to her doctor last week and heard the baby's heartbeat again. Everything is on track, everything looks good. We'll go back on Dec. 30 for a doctor's visit and for an ultrasound on Jan. 3--at which point we might be able to tell the gender! That will help immensely with planning.
